Fees

At RDM we strive to be transparent in our billing. Typically, the legal fees for an uncontested adoption are around $3,500 to $4,500 but this depends on a number of factors, including whether or how easily consents can be obtained from the birth parent(s), the age(s) of the child(ren) and whether the court requires a report on the child(ren)’s views or their consent, and whether the adoption is international or domestic. Generally all birth parents must be served with the adoption materials so if difficult to find, this also adds to the costs. If the adoption is contested, then a trial may be necessary and the fees are likely to be higher and will depend on the hourly rate(s) of the lawyer(s) involved which range from $250-$475.
