Ian has retired from his practice in the areas of commercial litigation and estate litigation. He often advised companies and shareholders on different types of commercial disputes and had an extensive experience advising clients on wills and estate litigation.

Born and raised in Vancouver, Ian received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia before earning his law degree from the UBC Law School in 1985. While at UBC, Ian played four years for the senior men’s basketball team. He was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1986 and spent six years working for a Vancouver law firm before joining RDM in 1992.

Ian was a partner at RDM from 1993 – 2020. He lives in the Fraser Valley with his wife, Kelly, and has three adult children who are spread across the globe. Once his retirement fully sets in, Ian looks forward to more travel and golf.
