Shelly has been a partner at RDM since 2009 and practices civil litigation, with a particular focus on personal injury litigation. She represents people who have suffered injuries and loss as a result of sexual assault, medical malpractice, motor vehicle collisions as well as slip and falls. Her experience ranges from emotional trauma through to catastrophic physical, psychiatric and brain injuries. She also practices in the area of labour and employment and human rights law.
Shelly has represented clients in all levels of court in BC, including the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal, and at various tribunals.
She is a member of the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia and has been involved with the BC Branch of the CBA. She is currently a member of the Board of Directors for the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation and a member of the Character Abbotsford Council.
Raised in BC, Shelly completed her undergraduate degree from the University of Victoria in 1994. She moved to Ontario to complete her Master’s degree in Political Science in 1996 and then her law degree in 1999, both from the University of Western Ontario. She then returned to the west coast, where she articled with large Vancouver firm. She was called to the BC Bar in 2000 and joined RDM Lawyers in 2003.
Shelly’s hourly rate is currently $465, while much of her personal injury practice is billed through contingency fee agreements.
